.....Columbine School (District 26) was a joint district with El Paso County. A building was constructed to house the school in 1902 and located southeast of Greenland on County Line Road, near the present day Furrow Road. The school burned down in either 1921 or 1929 and was not replaced. The students were sent to Larkspur or Monument Schools.

.....The 1899 School Tax List indicates that Sugar Creek (on the South Platte) was actually District 26, but the number may have been reassigned by 1902.
