.....The
Plum Creek or Acequia School (District # 16) was built in 1911, but
the district was formed earlier, as it is listed on the 1899 School
Tax List published in the Castle Rock Record Journal. Located on the
banks of Plum Creek, the school was built of white limestone. The building
had two rooms, a stage, and a kitchen with running water. This building
was torn down when Chatfield Dam was constructed after the 1965 flood. |
