Douglas County Libraries Foundation is proud to present An Evening with Dave Barry.

Author ExtravaganzaDave Barry is a humor columnist. His work appears in more than 500 newspapers in the United States and abroad. In 1988 he won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. He has written 30 books, and is currently working on a new book with Ridley Pearson called Science Fair, due out in October.

The lively interview and Q&A session, will be moderated by Jamie Brickhouse, Director of HarperCollins Speaker Bureau, who is also a stand-up comedian.

Literacy Volunteer Orientation and Training

For adults in our community who would like to reach out by supporting the adult literacy programs as a volunteer. Volunteers help students learn English, prepare for the GED or citizenship test, or read.

Training will include:

  • Volunteer support
  • Adult learning theory
  • Tutor training
